Co-located within a major research precinct alongside the Prince of Wales Hospital, Royal Hospital for Women and Sydney Children’s Hospital, we have exceptional infrastructure and a complete focus on quality for our participants. 
If you have been diagnosed, and are interested in an oncology clinical study, it’s important to talk to your treating physician, but there may be benefits to potentially participating in a study.

Oncology Experts

Our aim is to facilitate equitable clinical trial access for all patients, including those from regional centres. Our collaborative approach has resulted in a pool of over 50 referring Oncologists, who actively refer participants to us, ensuring rapid recruitment, for even the most complex of studies.

With innovative therapies and trials increasing in complexity, our purpose-built facility is uniquely equipped with the infrastructure to provide comprehensive investigational product preparation, treatment delivery, safety monitoring, translational research support, and intensive supportive care for oncology patients receiving these new therapies.

Scientia conducts approximately 25-40 active oncology trials every year, the majority of which are First Time In Human (FTIH). Co-located in the Bright Alliance building at the Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH) campus, we are part of the Randwick Health and Innovation Precinct. We treat patients from all over Australia, and proactively engage clinicians and referring specialists as collaborators throughout New South Wales. 

Scientia has a track record of reducing study complexity and giving early phase Oncology assets the best chance for success. With a highly skilled workforce, we train, mentor and develop study coordinators, doctors, and nurses in our trial operational procedures to nurture transferrable skills in early phase trials. 

Scientia provides its trial unit staff opportunities for continuous professional development, including a comprehensive study coordinator education programme and support to attend conferences for ongoing networking and collaboration, ensuring consistency and delivery for our clients.

An Extra Layer of Expert Medical Care

During a clinical trial, you will be under the care of dedicated medical professionals at Scientia, who in conjunction with your treating Oncologist, closely monitor your health and progress over the course of a trial. This means you receive additional evaluations and the highest quality care, often with more frequent check-ups than you might receive outside of a trial setting.

Participants may receive access to the latest treatments and technologies before they become widely available, and you may benefit from new medications or interventions that have the potential to address your health concerns.

When contacting a clinical trial site, you will need to have the following:

  • A clinical trial referral letter
  • Relevant medical and treatment history
  • Most recent blood test and scan results
  • Histopathology or biopsy reports
  • Molecular pathology result, if available
  • Contact details of your referring doctor
